On the morning of September 11th, 2001 19 Al Qaeda terrorists hijacked four airplanes. They used weapons to stab or kill air plane pilots, flight attendants, and passengers. They then crashed two of the airplanes into the World Trade Center in New York. There were around 17,400 people in the World Trade Center at the time of the attack. They killed everyone on the airplane and people inside of the buildings. They crashed the third airplane into the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia. With the fourth plane the hijackers crashed into a field in Pennsylvania because some of the people on board of the airplane tried taking control over it. There weren’t any people who survived on any of the planes.There were 2,993 people including the 19 terrorists that died on September 11th. Most of the people were civilians. More than 90 countries lost citizens because of the attack. Dunn-Jones was a person that was in the World Trade Center and five months after the attack he died from a lung condition because of all of the dust during the collapse. On the day of September 11th besides the 110 floor World Trade Center falling down there were lots of other buildings that were destroyed or had damage done to them. After the attack many police officers and rescue workers in other places in the country went to New York to help with all of the damage. Blood donations in the United States increased a lot after 9/11.On September 27, 2001 the FBI showed photos of all of the hijackers. They also showed information about them. Fifteen of them were from Saudi Arabia, two from the United Arab Emirates, one from Egypt, and one from Lebanon.I don’t remember very much from September 11th because I was so little and I’m sure that the teachers didn’t want all of us little kids to freak out about it. I remember seeing some of it on TV but since I was so little I didn’t really understand any of it. I think that it is just horrible that the hijackers decided to do that. They killed so many people, and that’s just not right.
