Today in US History.The Mexican American War was fought beteween Mexico and the United States. The United States won the war and got half of Mexico. Paid 18 million dollars for it. The war took place to expand the boarders. Most Unjustifed war we fought. Mexico thought that their land was origionally larger then it was, when the US claimed the land, Mexico invaded. Mexico lost a lot more men then the US.I did my speech on President Lincoln.The Civil War was between the confederate and the Union. The union won because they had more of everything, such as people, health care, general, ect. The north had more states and land grew food, but the south grew cotton and tobacco. Therefore the north had more food.Reconstruction 12 years. The rebuliding of the south after the Civil War. Physical, and social rebuilding. Cities, railroads, families.13 amendment- embolish slavery14 amendment- anyone born in the us besides native americans had rights15 amendment- right to voteAfrican Americans were helped the freedmans buro gave them jobs because they knew how to farm. After it ended the whites became racist again.Reconstruction was successful but definitely way too short.
