Today Mr. Bruns finished up on his presentations.
Navajo code talkers are talkers and we spoke the navejo language so we knew what the japanese were talking about but they dont know what we are. We were to kill the code talkers if captured so they arent tortured for not giving out the code.
Battle of coral sea- happened in austrailia. we did alot of damage to them and they did a lot of damage to us. by them not winning we won. naval battle.
Chester Nimitz- admirla of the navy aircraft carrier named after him today.
Battle of midway- turning point of war
battle of leyte gulf - won by U.S. was in the phillipeans hard process because there were alot of islands so alot to invad. we were bombing japanese cities every day and making new ships guns, new items all the time.
General MacArthur- didnt want to lleave the phillipeans but had to go to Austraia in order to not get captured.
Iwo Jima- movies about this battlle flags of our fathers, very small island just under 7,000 soldiers died. flag rising on Mt. Seribachy was a famous flag rising and there is a monument that i saw when i went to washington D.C.
General Leslie Groves - top secret bomb making VP
New Mexico was test site for atomic bomb, trinity was the first bomb. hotter than the sun. radiation, glass all over the ground because of the hotness.

radiation sickness would set in and skin was burned.
japan did not back down so nagasaki was placed
fat man- BIG bomb but did not do as much damage, everything went wrong with this. they almost ran out of gas, so almost crashed. bomb didnt go where it was supossed to but war did end.
GI bill of rights gave jobs to war soldiers to help them get a job and find a home and go to school.
Japanese camps- forced to leave homes and sell everything but were not treated bad we just couldnt trust them.
