The manhattan project was the project of making the atomic bomb. THis way we wouldnt have to wast milliions of lives to try and go in and fight out way through japan because it would be really hard to win because the japanese fight to the death. July 1945 the first atomic bomb went off in mexico. THis was a testing drop. They explained it as an explosion of an ammunition dump.

The enola gay was the aircraft designed specifically to drop the atomic bomb. This was the first aircraft strong enough to drop this bomb. Paul tibbets was the pilot. THe little boy was the atomic bomb the was dropped on hiroshima. It was a uranium bomb. It was not as big or as powerful as the fat man atomic bomb made of plutonium. If you were close enough to the bomb you would be instantly disinigrated. It burnt shadows into the ground becuase it was so hot. It was hotter than the sun. Then there was the radiation sickness. Japan still didnt give up so we dropped another bomb that was about twice the power of the little one. THis one was called the fat man and it was made of plutonium. It as dropped in Nagasaki. Japan then surrendered a couple days after that.

Yalta conference. Germany would be broken into four occupation zones. Stallin promised free elections in Easternd Europe. Stalin promised to join the war against Japan after war with Germany was over. Have a conference at San Francisco to set up the United Nations.

The Nurember trials were nazis that were put on trials for the holocaust. for war crimes.

Gi bill of rights. This was to make sure we didnt go back into the great depression. THey basically gave soldiers money to go to college and get jobs and stuff to get used to normal everyday life again.

Japanese internment camps. they were for japanese people who were forced to sell their homes and items and other stuff. THey were given education and given jobs and fed and payed. They got to play games and sports and different stuff.
