By 1943 had pretty well stopped the Germans. Leningrad was the city that the Germans wanted. Many people were starving to death in Leningrad. Montgomery was the greatest British general. Fighting in Italy was very tough. Once we captured Paris, the D-Day invasion was basically over. The Battle of the Bulge was the worst battle for us and was a waste. It took place during the winter months. FDR died a few days before the war ended. Many Filipinos and Americans died on the Bataan death march. We won the Battle of Coral Sea that took place on or over water. The battle of Midway was a major turning point during the Pacific war. We dominated Japan during this battle.
