Project- Victory Japan day, blog, something interesting
Japan Surrendered in August 15, 1945 which ended WW2, name decided on after their victory in Europe, Formal Surrendering happened on the U.S.S. Missouri on September 2, 1945, after the surrender, many POW's were executed by the Japanese, and several Japanese Soldiers committed suicide, What made Japan decide to surrender was the two atomic bombs dropped on them on Hiroshima on 6th August and Nagasaki on 9th August, as well as the Soviet Forces invading Manchuria, of which the Emperor of Japan blamed their surrender on the Bombs dropped saying, "Should we continue to fight, it would not only result in the
ultimate collapse and obliteration of the Japanese nation but would lead also to the total extinction of human civilization". day know as the day for mourning of war dead and praying for peace in Japan. Both August 14 and August 15 have been known as VJ day, the unconditional surrender of Japan, several months after the victory in Europe, Rhode Island is the only state to have a holdiday dedicated towards the day, mostly due to concerns of the feelings of Japenese now.
