Today we had a blog discussion day. we talked about the movies we watched for our big blog the last week. zach and ben talked about the movie Defiance. It was about four jewish brothers whoes house was destroyed by the germans and so they went and lived in the forest and over time gathered up a bunch more jews. They formed kind of a militia to take out small german convoys to gather food for their whole little village they had made up. The germans attacked them in the forest once and they had to move but they stopped and drove the germans away by talking to them. Then ashley talked about the movie pearl harbor. she said it started out more like a love movie and how a nurse fell in love with a dislexic guy trying to get into the army. before the peearl harbor attack the radars were picking up a big mass and people told them not to worry cause they were expecting a big plane and a little while later they were attacked. They we talked about the movie we watched which was enemy at the gates. It was about two snipers against eachother. One russian and one German. Then kloewer talked about the movie saving private ryan. It was a story of four brothers that were paratroopers and three out of the four died and so this small groups plan was to find the one that was still alive, private ryan, and take him back to his mother so she had at least one child left. They jenna and erin talked about the boy in the stripe pajamas and he made friends with a jew boy on the other side of the fence to the death camp. When his parents keep telling him its a farm. In the end he sneaks under the fence and gets gassed in the gass chambers. Then nate talked about a book he read. It was about a boy and his trip and life in a concentration camp. then april talked about Schindlers list. how this guy was saving a bunch of jews from their trip to the concentration camp.
