Today Jenna started with her presentation about the securities exchange act. During the 1920's there was a lot of fraud and that eventually helped lead to the fraud. People werent treating investers fairly and some people with inside information on stocks would rig it for their own profit.Then she talked about the First New Deal.It didnt end the depression but helped with the suffering of people.It was trying to get a more organized partnership between corporations and the goveernment.aim was to be conservative to save capitalism and the fundamental institutions of amreican socciety.Wanted to restore the economy from the top down banks,.Then she talked aobut the Second New Deal.It wanted to restore the economy from the buttom up. It basically want to help the common people first and the banks after.It wanted to end the depression.Tried turning non consumers to consumers again.National Labor relations act of 1935emphasized social justiceSHE GAVE US CUPCAKES!!!Next Somebody talked about the Federal Emergency Relief act.It gave money to the states and the stated distributed it out in many ways.Work completed.Cash outlays.Food and clothes.Gave three billion dollars over three years.Then she talked about the home owners loan act.US government agency established it in 1933.Helped families avoiid having their homes foreclosedd in the deepression.Extended in the loan repayment period and divided the single lump of payments to smaller installments.Helped people keep homes by paying for them over time. instead of in just one chunk of money...
