The US set up a democracy and built schools, roads, and other things to modernize the country. The people of the Philippines tried to gain independence. In 1936 they recieved full independence. This tready ended the war.mexicoMexicans were poor and mad that rich American businessman had shares in Mexican oil wells and basically anything that had value in the real world, this was happening because Porfirio Díaz, the Mexican dictator at the time was allowing polticians, just mostly high up people in Mexico make money off the American investments in the foreign soil in Mexico.
