OSHA, established in 1970, investigated businesses to make sure that they were safe.2. ?3. What is prohibition? Prohibition was when the sale and production of alcohol was banned. Why did people want prohibition to come about? People drank alcohol all the time. Especially immigrants. WCTU- Women’s Christian Temperance Union- They had to deal with drunken husbands. They wanted to get rid of alcohol because they would eliminate violence.
