If they had a health problem or diease they were sent home. If they passed, they got inspected by a government official. If they were able to work they had $25. Closed in 1954 which ended the large amounts of immigrants coming to the U.S.Angel Island- immigration station on the west east coast. Known as the Elklis Island of the West Coast. Asian, mainly Chinease. They had harsh questioning and the buildings were disgusting because people were raist and didnt like the Asians.Melting Pot- mixture of people of different cultures and races who blended together by abandoning their native language and customs.Nativism- showing favortism toward native-born americans. They created anti-immigrant groups. German and English were superior immigrantsReligious Defferences- Natives-Protestants.. Immigrants were Roman Catholic of Jewish.
