Over the span of years, technology had increased more and more in the United States, in communications. With the expansion of transportation, Communication also expanded over a period of time. For example, the printing press. The printing press changed peoples lives when it was first invented. But when improved, people could mass produce literacy. By 1890, the literacy rate in the U.S. was over 90 %. This was a major improvement thatn the years before. Paper also was massed produced at mills, the paper was made from wood pulp.Aviation also expanded, and was not a far-fetched idea anymore. In the early 1900's, the Wright brothers made the first flyable machined airplane. It was only flew for a few seconds, but this was the farthest anyone had gone in aviation. within two years, the flight distance increased to twenty miles. Then by the 1920's, the postal service began to send mail by plane.In my opinion, this was a great time in history. Industry was booming, and for the first time, there had been modern increases in a small amount of time.
