The study of Marxism in China was started by Mao.

It was promised great riches for China.

Marxism influenced many people to support mao and his society of communism..

This communist society brought down nationalism and communism became their China's society later on. Named Maoism after becoming the official leader.

Great Leap Forward and Great Famine-

The Great Leap Forward was a campaign by the CCP.

Everyone in China has to be involved in steel-making.

Major economic disaster.

Farmers left their crops which was 85% of the population. Led to Great famine nationwide.

This cost more than forty million lives. Three-year natural disaster

Students and workers and other people started protesting against the really stupid move of a really stupid man.

Cultural Revolution-

may 16 of 1966.

Betrayal within the communist party.

Communist leaders all went different directions and created chaos.

Communists fought for leadership of the CCP.

Hundreds of millions of innocent Chinese were killed or imprisoned.

Red Guards created chaos in public.

Liu Shaoqi and Deng Xiaoping

Was a huge tragedy

Arrested the gang of four-Yao Wenyuan, Jiang !ing, Zhang Chunqiao, and Wang Hongwen.

Mao Zedong-

Lost trust in many of the CCP's top leaders.

Suffered from a neuron heart disease.

On september 2nd he suffered a heart attack and he died six days later.

Tiananmen Square Massacre-

First time CCP army killed civilians publicly.

Protest was due to embezzlement, corruption, and conspiracy between government officials and businessmen.

They demanded for the freedom of press, speech, and assembly.
