HUAC- many were feared about the saftey of the U.S. of the communists.
propaganda was trying to influence people to become communists.
Cuban missle crisis- argunent between cuba and the united states. the bay of pigs was what started it. we invaded because castro comes to power and is communist and we dont like him.
soviet union was helping cuba. They had nuclear war heads facing the united states.
JFK ordered the soviet union to dismantle the war heads but they didnt listen.
we wanted to quarentine cuba so we didnt let anyone or anything in or out of cuba. we had nuclear war heads in turkey pointed at soviet union.
after cuba removed their war heads we removed ours and promised to not invade cuba.

Joeseph McCarthy died at age 48 because of drinking
elected 1952 and claimed communist were taking over the government.
the attacks on the suspected communists were in early 1950s and never had the same number of names. he would say he had a number of people on the senate that were communists .but no evidence
1954 McCarthy made accussations against the U.S. army. the investigation was nationally telivised
