Today we continued with the mop up deal. We talked about how women tested airplanes and stuff before they were used in battle. African americans couldnt actually fight with whites yet. they were segregated but they still fought. Same with asian americans. Bob Hope entertaines soldiers that were stationed across sees. Bing Crosby was a singer that also entertained soldiers. John Wayne was an actory that really started to be famous in WWII movies.
The black market was where you could pay more than normal to get more than your rations or other things. Horse meat was the only thing at that time that was not rationed. The war production bored helped a lot to win the war. There was a lot of waiting for rationed food. Sugar was always rationed.
U-boats were submarines.
Then we talked about the Ultra code thing. The bombe decoded stuff. Hunter killers designed to take down submarines. They used depth charges. they were bombs that were forced under water a certain distance and then they would blow up. In Virginia it is illegal to wash a muell on the sidewalk. Operation Barbarosa.
