Erwin Rommel was one of the top generals during the warfrom Germany. Bernard Montgomery was one of the main British generals. Dwight Eisenhower was a American general during WWII. Vischi government was the Nazi government. Free French underground was against Nazis. The U.S. entered the war during 1942. Operation torch was a big win for the Americans. It was the big invasion of North Africa in Morocco. We decoded the German Ultra during this time.
Mediterranean Front.
Stalin wanted the Americans to go through France, but the Americans said we weren't ready for it. The Allies advanced towards Rome. They fought at the battle of Anzio before we could get to Rome. Britain didn't want to invade France. The Allies were victorious at the invasion of Sicily. Britain didn't start invading Italy until 1943.
