Indian Termination Policy this policy was between the years of mid 1940's and mid 1960's. This was a policy to get rid of reservations for the Indians. Their was pressure on Congress to reduce Washington autority in the West. So thats what they did. Because this happened Indians had to state and federal taxes which they used to not pay. They became offical American citizens. The land that got taken away from them was sold to non Native Americans. The Native Americans really struggled they didn't have the funds to fight for their rights. One reason the American did this because of the natural resources. 109 tribes were terminated. This also really affected their education also they had 75% drop out rate. They used to have health care but after they got terminated they lost all of it.

Opinons:

They thought it was pretty sad. The Indians didn't know what to do. They just got slapped in the face. But, this had to be done sometime.
