Monday-
Finishing cold war and presentations.
Cold war- We won because the Soviet Union fell apart talked big and did not actually do what they said.
Post Cold War- We cut back on military funding because we did not have to worry about war.
Communism failed
We are the only super power in the world.
9-11-
It was a beautiful day. The first plane hit st 8:46. Then 17 minutes later the next plane hit.
Deaths were 2,996 deaths. So within an hour the towers collapsed.
They also targeted the pentagon and hit it.
The 4th plane had been hijacked but the passengers took it back over. All of the passengers on that plane are heroes.
Tuesday-
People would give up freedoms for protection but really do not want that anymore.
Tuesday-
Civil Rights-
The national effort made by African American people and there supporters in the 50 60 to eliminate segregation and gain equal rights. This was 100 years after slave were no more allowed.
Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated and was a Baptist Minster.
He organized a lot of things that got African Americans there rights.
Kennedy Assassination-
People were unhappy with what he did in Cuba. He went from young and flashy to bold and brave.
He was going to a presidential campaign.
When the president was shot he was hit in the head and then another bullet hit the governor in the head.
Lee Harvey Oswald was an employee at the building where the shot came from.
Malcolm X- Her was very physical. Bayard Rustin helped him the whole time.
Wednesday-
The Kennedy Assassination- There was three pullets fired different angles form all the angles but only on bullet and one shooter found. So people believe that this is a conspiracy or there had to be another shooter.
People believe that the soviet did it mafia Cubans or the CIA.
Alkida hates us because because we put troops in there country and we were on there religious ground.
Thursday-
They think that we are sinful people and they do not want to be like us.
Taliban- they are very harsh. Women can not go to school and have to be fully covered in clothes.
People see U.S. doing what ever they want.
Friday-
Iraq did not start out as a war on terror because we believed that they were getting weapons of mass destruction.
We occupied it and set up a democracy.
We found Sudan Hussein in a hole. We put him through the trial in the Iraq new government and he was eventually hung.
Operation dessert storm- We sent troops in to defeat quaite.
Iraq consequences- Economic sanctions remained. Weapons inspectors. No fly zone.
