Korean Conflict

- it is known as the forgotten war
- 1950-1953
- they are the only country testing nuclear weapons
- We gave north and south Korea a democratic election, but Soviet Union would not allow participation in there occupied zone.
- instead the handed over power to the North Korean Communist party under Kim Il- sung.
- the south elected the nationalist exile
- We had pulled our troops out just before north invaded
- it was very successful south Korea was diminished to almost nothing
- United nations steps in
- we push them back almost all the way to china but then it returns to the original when china gets involved
