Notes:

The Lend-Lease Act was passed in 1941. The US was more interested in joining war because of being allies with Great Britain. The Lend-Lease Act was the US lending supplies and other war items to allied countries in return that after the war they returned them to the US. This was paid back if something was destroyed, that country was to pay back the US with money or a different item that was destroyed. Germany was patrolling the Atlantic Ocean with their U-boats. U-boats were also known as submarines. A lot of merchant ships were destroyed by German U-boats. The US had ways of fighting back against German U-boats. The SONAR, the group Ultra, Depth Charge Attacks, Airplanes that were looking for submarines and also went after them after they located the submarines. The Atlantic Charter was the US and Great Britain that were getting together to make War Goals even though that US was not part of the war yet. Germany invaded the USSR in the summer of 1941; Hitler called upon his most stupid thing yet, invading the USSR. If Hitler got Leningrad, Moscow, and Stalingrad, then Hitler thought that taking of the USSR was going to be an easy take. The reason it was stupid was because the USSR had so much stuff and a strong military that they were able to keep the invasion that Germany had started, although German was very close to taking over the USSR. As the USSR retreated, they burned everything. They thought that if the USSR cannot have it, then the German could not have it either. The Germans moved very swiftly when they began invading USSR. Germany did not get to Moscow but they became very close.

JAPAN:

Tojo was the leader of Japan. Yamamoto came up with the Pearl Harbor plan.
