Today we finished the presentation. We talked about how Germany used a lot of U-boats which were submarines and they sunk a lot of ships. It was really hard to fight these because they were underwater. They destroyed a lot of ships. We used the ULTRA program to intercept German messages so we could know what they were doing. We would use underwater mines or explosives the there was planes designed to search and hunt these submarines. Then we talked about the German invasion of USSR. Hitler invaded his ally the Soviet Union. It was called Operation Barbarossa.
We watched a little movie about the invasion of the soviet union. Soviet union did ok but at first were behind then as winter came the soviets were used to the cold weather and the germans werent. This is when the war slowly started turning around. Then we watched a small video of a speech. Tomorrow we are going to start the pearl harbor blog discussion
