Today Mr. Bruns discussed his PowerPoint again. He also discussed some items about the test and how it is on Wednesday. We need to know a lot of stuff and I do not remember what is all on the test. Here is some information about what Mr. Bruns talked about.
Japan invaded Manchuria in China for Natural Resources. Japan and China mashed in the 1930’s starting in 1931. Japan decided that they were also mean and the US. and Japan were allies in WW I. Japan bombed us at Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. Hitler undid the Treaty of Versailles and annexes Austria. Austria asked to become part of Germany after WW I. Austria was part of Germany ethnically. Hitler’s biggest goal was to get German land back after they lost it after WW I. The Sudetenland was part of Czechoslovakia and Hitler wanted it back. The Munich conference included Neville Chamberlain of Great Britain, Adolf Hitler of Germany, Benito Mussolini of Italy, and Eduard Daladier of France. The Germans were Appeased and the other countries gave into Hitler’s demand. Chamberlain became famous and loved because he was thought to have created Peace for the Time. Winston Churchill thought that Hitler was going to disobey the rules of everything that happened in the Munich Conference. Hitler promised he was done taking over land, but instead he took over more countries right before WW II. The Kristallnacht was also known as the Night of Broken Glass. German thugs went around burning sinagogs and broke Jewish things. Germans were trying to destroy Jewish wills. The Soviet-German Pact was Soviet gave raw materials to Germany. Both agreed to stay Neutral during the interwar years. They agreed to invade Poland and split Poland in half. Russia got Finland and Germany did not get a lot of things from this but just another person that they did not have to worry about. Germany invaded using Blitzkrieg tactics and Russia was using Calvary. France depended on Defensive tactics. Germany used Offensive tactics. The Blitzkrieg attacks meant that Air Force attacks, Tanks then attack, troops in trucks come in, the mechanized units were trucks that rushed inland and flanked their enemies. This tactic was used to get victory very quickly. Germany had the stucka dive bomber equipped with a siren that scared their enemy. In April of 1940, Hitler was invading and conquering a country per month. Hitler invading and took over Denmark and Norway were taken within a couple weeks. Winston Churchill took over Prime Minister of Great Britain after WW II begins. Hitler turned his acts towards France. Germany invaded France for a THRID time through Belgium because the Maginot Line stopped on the boarder of Belgium and did not work very well. The Maginot Line was a waste of Time and Money for France. France was focused on Defensive strategies. The Miracle of Dunkirk was when the Germans were pushing Great Britain’s troops and the French troops. The German troops were being forced to wait from for the tank units. All of the troops in France were evacuated to Great Britain and they were so happy to get everyone else. The orders from Hitler saved thousands of people lives. Hitler was waiting to tour France after WW I. Hitler forced the French to surrender in a train car exactly how Germany surrendered after they lost in WW I. The Vichy French Government was kept in order because they were allied to the Germans during WW II. The Official Government of France fled to Great Britain was known as the Free French Underground. They Free French Underground was our biggest ally. Hitler really wanted to invade Great Britain. Germany needed to gain air superiority before invading Great Britain. Germany was never able to gain air superiority over the British Royal Air Force. German bombers did so poorly in trying to take over the air, that German only attacked at night. ey hey
