Today we spent our class time watching a WWII movie. people who wanted to stay neutral were called isolationist. They fought to keep America out of the war. When a U-boat sunk a US navy vessel their nuetrality went to the bottom of the sea along with the rest of the crue. Meaning they were going to engage in war. I talked about the pearl harbor attack. before this Japan and the united states were had been squaring off for a long time. The US helped pull Japan troops out of China by attacking form the other side. During world war two farmers succeeded in record breaking harvests. The war production board was brought up so that factyories that normally build automobiles could build things like tanks, planes, ships, guns, and ammo for all these machines so the US was better prepared for war. During this time every family in the united states had ration tickets for the certain amounts of food they got each week because there wasnt as much prodduct as there use to be because of the war movements for making the things necessary to have a strong military.

Most women workers would do the military support jobs. Like building stuff. Some women would be pilots and some would do test flights on air planes. They would often teach the guys to fly these newly built planes if they didnt know how. They didnt qualify for any of the after military benefits like all the men in the military did.

no group was more effected by the war than the southern blacks. During this time black people were fighting for racial equality. A black guy threatened to march 1,000 black people on washington DC so to stop this FDR started putting blacks in the military in normal positions so they were more equal. Native americans were mostly used in the war as scouts. Many women went into industrial jobs buillding things for the war. For the first time women earned high wages in a mans job.

D-day was one of the largest amphibious attacks recordedd in history.
