Italy- 

-Major events that impacted their country between WWI and WWII.- 

They wanted more land than they had.

The treaty of Versailles-    

They joined the league of nations. 

Washington naval powers of 1921- They would not let u huge naval arms build up. 

9 Power Pact- Started the open door policy

Kellogg Briand Pact- It kind of outlined war. This was before the great depression. 

Italy had lost to Ethiopia and it was an embarrassment to Italy. So they invaded them because they had control of air trade.

Hitler and Mussolini became allies because of the civil war in Spain.  

1939 they invade Albania. 1940 they invade northern Africa. September 8 1943 they surrender.

                -background- 

Benito Mussolini- July 1883, very smart but disobedient expelled for bullying. Fought in the the war and it changed him.  He said that everything should be done for the betterment of the country.  

                -how they came to power- 

He started the fascist party. I system led by a dictator and had complete power. The fascist would match down streets and scare people. Gained power in 1922. Invaded Ethiopia and Albania. 

                -how they lost power-

In 1943 he was kicked out of dictatorship. He tried to escape and Switzerland. Later shot and hung. Italy was on the bad side and later switch sides and was one of out allies. 

-Discuss the impact of their Homefront and propaganda and what it was like in their country during the war- 

They saved paper metal and bones to make weapons with them. They did not understand the war very well and were not prepared. 

-Discuss major battle strategies-

Mussolini decided to side with Hitler. Worked with Germany. attack Mediterranean sea. used submarines to attack. Used ships and air crafts. 

-Discuss major battles that the country was involved in-

Italy declares war on Britain- They ignored Italy and the league of nation placed sanctions on the. Mussolini joined Hitler. 

Invasion of Sicily- Allied powers invaded and Mussolini was arrested. 

Mediterranean Sea- Italy launched attacks and they did not work. It higherd Italy's power. 

U.S. and Italy relations- After Italy declared war the U.S. did not see them as an enemy and later on began allies and helped each other out. 

-Discuss other people/generals from their country in WWII that had a major impact on the war-

King Victor Emmanuel he was the leader till WW2. 

-Discuss why they won or lost the war-

They lost because they did not have enough resources, poor leadership , and not enough interest in the war. 

-Discus the impact WWII had on the country-

 They surrendered African territories. Allied invaded southern Italy. Switched from axis to allies. Mussolini dies. 

Communist become more popular. 1948 Democratic republic was established.

-Major events that impacted their country between WWI and WWII-

Treaty of Versailles- Germany had to pay for everything and restrictions on the size of there army.

Beer Hall Putsch- It was a huge march to take over but it failed. 

Mein Kampf- It was Hitlers book and it explains what happened in WW1 and what they should have done. It also talks about the destruction of week people. 

Reichstang- HItler set this town on fire. Blamed the communist and sentenced to death. Used an argument that there was a plot against the german government. 

Chancellor- Paul van Hindberg let Hitler take over and Hitler was very powerful. he did not like Hitler but Paul was being pressured so after he died of cancer Hitler pretty much takes over.  The  democratize party was banned.  HItler makes his own type of military the NAZI's

 Night of long knives- which was pretty much a purge because he was suspicious about a lot of soldiers. 

Fuhrer- He killed Kurd Von and anybody else who went against him so he could take over power. 

Rhineland- Was a land that Germany and France had been fighting over for years. France was given it in the treaty. He built up his military and takes of Rhineland. 

Kristallnacht- Called night of the broken glass. They went into the street and broke windows where the Jews were living. He took out 15,000 Jews in Poland by train.  

Plan Z- was the final solution and it was to kill Jews.

Chancellor- Paul van Hindberg let Hitler take over and Hitler was very powerful. he did not like Hitler but Paul was being pressured so after he died of cancer Hitler pretty much takes over.  The  democratize party was banned.  Hitler makes his own type of military the NAZI's

Adolf Hitler- Dropped out of high school when he was 16. His dad died of a ling he-mirage. Mom dies of breast cancer. Then he applied for the German army in WW1. He got shit in the leg and was also blinded. After the war he wanted to get revenge. He believed in the stab in the back theory. He blamed the gays and Jews for the loss of the war. His policies basically caused ww2. He only liked his race and l=only could marry your race or religion. He ended up committing suicide.

Heinrich Himmler- Went a military commander to a Nazi commander. He organized all of the camps in the Nazi party. Hitler put him in charge of certain assignments and failed so was fired. He ran away and was found and arrested by British forces and killed himself. 

Joseph Goebels- Had control over the newspaper and made people like the Nazi party. After Hitler died he became chancellor of Germany and poisoned his children and killed himself. 

Goebells- Made sure that nobody would see or hear anything bad about Hitler. Made sure that Nazis were seen everywhere.

They were constructing roads and railroads. Forced labor prisoners. Mass production of food and weapons. 

Very well nursing system. Got rid of weak old people and homosexual couples and Jews.  

They people were desperate and were lied to about Hitler which made them like him. 

The kids were brain washed to believe and Hitler. were also taught to be ready to fight when they get older.

Invading Poland was the start of the war the Germans invaded.

They lost because they were not prepared for the cold weather in Russia. 

-Discuss the impact WWII had on the country

The allies divided Germany it was made to control Germany. 

Fanatically destroyed. 

They do not have very much national pride. You can not draw the Nazi sign.
