Today we continued going over his powerdpoint and studying for his test. yay..
Before his powerpoint he talked about tips on how to do better on our next powerpoint since this last one was the first one for this semester.
Then he started with his powerpoint and talked about breadlines first. which were long lines that poor people waited in to get their bread for the day. mostly males cause they are the ones that had their money in the stocket market during the stock market crash. People that became poor would turn into hobos and some would dissapear and never be seen again. A popular thing was selling apples to take money home to their family. Then he talked about what caused the dust bowl. It was mainly because the farmers were told to basically use all the land. farm prices went way down because of over producttion. a major drought happened during this time which caused all these dust storms. Then he talked about Okies. Which are people that lived on the plains and were affected by a dust bowl. They would load up everything they had on a vehicle and drive to california to work in the fields. The he talked about Dorothea lange a little. He also talked about the Social Security.
