New Deal Programs

• United States Housing Authority

1. Started in 1937
2. Couldn't use over 10% of budget on one state
3. Their budget got cut in half
4. Local gov't participation to build the houses
5. This made it difficult
6. The success was limiited because of all the steps
7. Only 221 local authorities were created in two years
8. After 1942 it was renamed the Federal Succession
9. The new renamed act is still around today
10. PHA was abolished
11. Cleared slums out
12. Did help future government projects
13. Suffered from insufficient funding
14. Built low-cost homes for low-income families
