The 1952 election was between Eisenhower and Stevenson. This was honestly the first time I have ever heard of Adlai Stevenson. Stevenson was the Govenor of Illinois and ran for the Democratic party against Dwight Eisenhower general of the army for the Republicans. Eisenhower won this in a landslide this was the first time a Republican had been in office sense 1932.
After Harry S Truman decided not to run again he said he hoped that the democrats would have Stevenson as there nominee. Stvensons Running mate was John Sparkman a polition from Alabama. Eisenhowers running mate was Richard Nixon.
Eisenhower won this election with 55 percent of the popular vote and winning 39 of the 48 states. Stevenson lost with 44 percent of the popular vote.
