13.1- groth of cities

America changed alot in the 1920's. There was a major diffrence in rual and city life. In 1920, the U.S. Census, reported that 51 percent of people lived in cities of 2500 or more. This was a major change do to the mass production of farming before, many people were journeying to become rich farmers on rual farmground. But now, it leads to bigger modernization, where people come to cities to find factory jobs and start local businesses. With people coming to cities, attractions sprang up everywhere. There were amuzement parks, theatures, resteraunts on just about every commercial block where peole would go out to eat. People that came to cities flocked to these attractions to get away from work. By 1923, almost more than 1.5 million people came to cities and away from towns and farms. This showed a big impact for history to come, and the mass growth of metropolitan areas.
