World war one day two. France pretty much wanted to get land from all the losers. France and Germany had fought a war and Germany won so France wanted to get back at them. Russia dropped out of the war and became communists. And when they dropped out we joined. Germany thought they could get this war over in six months, but that did not happen. Our goals were to just win and end the war. We pretty much paid for this war.When the war broke out President Wilson said that the U.S. was to be neutral, because we were a country that had immigrants from all over.U.S. got involved with the war because both sides GB and Germany were stopping our ships. Germany was sinking British and American ships which were killing American citizens. These were ships for passengers and not military weapons and Germany thought we did have weapons so they sunk them. The Zimmerman note was a note written by Arthur Zimmerman asking Mexico to get in the war against America. It was decoded and given to American and we were in outrage. The note said that if Mexico got in the war and won they would get the territory they lost; New Mexico, Texas, and Arizona. These were the two most major reasons why the U.S. got involved.
