Today, in class, we got on the computers, which was being quite a pain, and continued watching this bomb video. We kicked the video off in a segment about poaching, how the crime-stopping crew arrested some chumps that had claimed to be hunting a small animal, but they had a pack of hunting dogs and a small arsenal of guns, showing signs of illegal poaching.A little bit later, it was about a lady named Sister Dorothy, who had reported destroying of land and other things harmful to the environment to the government. She received many deaththreats, but being the stud that she [was], she didn't ever show fear. Walking down a muddy trail, she encountered two men, and after an exchange of words, the men pulled out guns. Yet no fear shown, instead of running, she read a bible passage and then turned to go. They then killed her, and it was later found out that the two men were hired by a rancher.Later, some natives were trying to prevent logging in their area. I just got on the internet on this time, so I missed it :(Apparently the environmental troubles like deforestation aren't just happening in Africa, but in America as well. The University of Texas did a study, showing children living near the sea channel are fifty percent more likely to get leukemia. 90 percent of the people living in this area are Hispanics, and they expanded on this fact, saying that it's not only economic but it also might have something to do with racism, which I don't really know about. The video seemed to die down, as it showed some type of montage showing stuff from places we already saw. There's not much else to say about it. They did, however, state the fact that there willl be 50 percent more people on this planet in 2050, which is insane.
