Watched a video about the "ripple" effect of global warming on polar bears and coastal islands with low elevation levels. So, there was this scientist team thats been up in the arctic area since the 90's, and the data they've gathered recently shows that there has been an unusual rise in temperature in the past few years. because of this temperature rise, the ice is melting and entire islands have been uncovered. Also, the effect on polar bears is none too good; male polar bears and cubs are getting smaller in size, and because the ice is melting, there is more open water. occasionally, polar bears have been found drowned, or even cannibalzed by other polar bears (because all the open water makes it harder for them to hunt their prey (usually seals). And, down in the sounthern pacific ocean, there are islands that because of the ice melting in the arctic, are sinking. the sea level rising is slowly creeping up their shores, and turning shores into swamps, and flooding gardens. the flooding gardens made it very difficult for the people living there to grow food, so they now depend on their government to send them food. However, they only sned the people food twice a year, and not even very much at that, so it runs out quickly. The people feel they have been forgotten, and they know they will have to leave their island soon, although they do not want to.We also went over the nextr and last maps, south america and latin america (together). we will not be having a test over africa.
