Today, we started class by going over the south american map. I think the test will be next wednesday. Then, we watched the movie Hotel Rwanda. I'm really trying to remember what happened. Something about the president got assasinated and the Hutus went crazy. They were using the radio propaganda alot. The radio propaganda was using the radio to tell the public about the Tutsis and that they should kill them. The hutus also bribed the public to kill Tutsis offering them shelter, food, land. The hotel manager gets taken out of his home, he brings his family members also...who, i think, were Tutsi. The guards okay the manager but want to kill his Tutsi family. He then bribes them with money and they give up the family. He lets his family stay in the hotel. He also lets orphaned Tutsi children stay in a room in his hotel and makes maids watch over them. He is a pretty legit man. This one dude was also telling the manager that people thought he doesn't amount to anything because he is African, which is apparently worse than the "N" word. It's a pretty touching story. Sad, also.
