Today in class we proceeded to finish WW1. We talked about our project being due on Monday. Then we continued with the war.The Over There song was a propaganda song that was really popular in WW1.Wilson’s 14 points1. An end to secret treaties2. Freedom of the seas3. Free trade for all countries4. Disarmament5. End to colonial claims6. Self determination for all countries7. Restoration of Belgium8 Restoration of France9. Readjustment of Italy’s boundaries10. Austria-Hungary would be given opportunity for autonomous development11. Romania, Serbia and Montenegro should be evacuated and restored12. Turkey should be sovereign13. Poland would be given their independence14. The “League of Nations: would be developedThe Treaty of Versailles ended the war and the Big 4 were there. There was France, Italy, GB, and US. France wanted the most from Germany because the war was mostly fought there. They wanted WW1 to be the end of all war but it caused WW2.-Territory was taken from Germany.-Germany’s military was reduced to 100,000 men. Could have no tanks, subs, or airplanes and could have 6 of each major ship.-Germany had to pay $33 billion to GB and France. Germany paid a total of $133 billion.-Germany had to take full responsibility for the war in the War Guilt Clause.-The League of Nations was set up to keep world peace.
