Today we watched a video about overpopulation. The video defined overpopulation as not just the number of people, but the impact the people have on the planet. So a family in the US that has two kids but uses a lot of electricity and drives cars everywhere is more overpopulated than a family in Nepal that has six children but walks everywhere and heats their huts with fire.Some of the causes of overpopulation are when women in third world countries are not educated enough about birth control so they just keep having babies, or they don't have enough money to pay for any form of contraception. Also, men in most developing countries dominate over women so women don't really have a choice of whether or not to have babies. If their husband wants a child then they have to have one.
