Today in CWI we watched a video on the effects of overpopulation. It was basically a collaboration of stories of poverty in places such as Rio. It was defined as not only the amount of people on Earth, but the impact each person has on the Earth,It was as Drea, Brie, and I said yesterday in our presentation on the very same topic. However, it elaborated on the lack of education on family planning and birth control. The reporter who was covering the story asked a young girl about the use of birth control and abortions. It was clear that she was utterly clueless. It was also shown that hundred of thousands of women die from unsafe "back ally" abortions, women who feel they have no other choice or option. This goes back to a lack of education on modern contraception and family planning. It also spoke about a woman's inability to make reproductive decisions by herself in developing countries. She must have as many children has her husband deems fit. This is another cause of overpopulation.
