Today Mr. Bruns kept talking about WWI. Liberty loans were how people tried to help pay for the war. He talked a lot about propaganda."Over there," was a famous song about the war. Over there meant over in Europe. We weren't going to come back the US untill we finish our job over there. The Versailles Palace is where the treaty was signed at the end of the war, the treaty of Versaille. "The Big Four" was the most powerful four countries, Great Britian, France, Italy, and the US. We also learned about the homefront. People back at home in the US were trying to help by planting gardens and buying war bonds. The American Red Cross is another example of this and people working in factories making weapons and ammunition. Many Americans thought that food was going to win the war. Herbert Hoover was the leader of the The Food Administration at the time. This organization helped conserve food supplies during WWI. There were certain days when Americans wouldn't eat wheat or meat. The Committee on Public Information was another organization started during WWI. They tried to influence American's to support the war.
