Today is Monday. Apparently we only have about nine days left of the semester including today. Mr. Bruns began his World War 1 powerpoint. World War 1 began in 1914 and ended in 1918. Back then, there were far fewer countries that made up Europe. They were all pretty much divided into the areas that the super powers controlled. Germany, Russia, Great Brittain, France, Sweden, Finland, Norway, Spain, Italy, and the Ottoman Empire were the composition of Europe.Germany was the badguy in this war. They and the countries that aided them were our archnemesis. The Allies were every other country that was fighting against Germany. German ultimately lost the war because they were surround on every side by the Allies. One of the biggest factors that went into the start of World War 1 is militarism. Militarism is when the countries of the world work towards building up their armies in case of war and for conquering other countries through expansion. The world is a dangerous place when Super Powers start to build up their armies. It means that they are ready for war at any time and all that they need is an excuse to fight.
