Why do women get paid less than men? They stop/pause their career to have children more so than men. They go into jobs that are typically paid less ie; nurses, elementary teachers, secretary, health aide-80% female..why do they do this? Because they genuinely like it or because they feel pressured to do a "woman job". Men are more aggressive when asking for raises than females.
On average women lose $400,000 in their lifetimes due to unequal pay.

This years Person of the Year for Time magazine is "Silence Breakers"
The first push for equality was at the Seneca Fall Conference in NY in 1848. There were four things that they really pushed
1) Voting rights
2) Prohibition
3) Child Labor Laws
4) Abolition of slavery
The organization called NOW was founded in 1966 and the goal of NOW was to bring equality to women. NOW pushed for: more women attend college, enter the workforce, help eliminate harassment, work to end all forms of violence, and generated a movement for gay rights.
Thursday-
Yesterday Donald Trump officially recognized Jerusalem as Israel's capital. There has been so much backlash and protests against this event (from Muslims and people in Israel, not necessarily USA and such)
