Militarism-The Building up of your military and then the using of that military to settle disputes 

Nationalism-Having great pride in ones nations, especially to the point of being criminal

Imperialism-taking over foreign land for the use of economic gain 

Goals of propaganda-

Enlist in the military

Dehumanize the enemy

buy war bonds

encourage patriotism

conserve food

sense of urgency 

 Zimmermann Note-a coded telegram sent by the Foreign Secretary of Germany, Arthur Zimmermann on January 16th, 1917

It sent to the German Ambassador in the US, Johann von Bernstorff

The Note was intercepted and decoded by British Intelligence

The Letter was given to the American Press on in March 1917 

It tried to get Mexico to declare war on the US 

Germany Promised Mexico that they would get the Mexican Cession back if they won 

Germany Wanted to keep the US out of Europe

This was due to the bad relationship between the US and Mexico

This Backfired, and The US didn't stay neutral, and joined the War on the Allies side
