Started out again with Asia map. Added the former soviet union to the middle east, china, india, and australia areas. Fun names there, mostly ending with "-stan". at the moment, i think australia and the former soviet union are the hardest ones, but australia is getting easier.Moved on to continuing the iraq assigned blog from 3 weeks ago. We had a revalation about the words "hung" and "hanged"...apparently hanged is for when you're talking about people, and hung is for objects. I had the appifany that this was because they are two different verbs. (yay, sidetracking!!!) Continued to a recap of what we talked about yesterday - saddam hussein, iraq/iran/u.s. wars in the 1990's, and why iraq went to war with Kuwait - and went to more of why iraq invaded kuwait (and economic sanctions), which was patially because of oil, and then (still in the 1990's) we invaded iraq because they invaded kuwait. This was a very short war. Another vocabulary/grammar sidetrack came up, with alex mixing up the words "regime" and "reign". Got back on track again with a more stuff from us getting iraq out of kuwait which partially led to why the middle east people (like the taliban, etc.) didnt like us very much, because they didnt like outside influences in their country. This was all part of the topic "Consequences of the Persian Gulf War", which we won. Discussion kept on for a while, then we ran out of time.
