First we went over the map again. The section we went over had some countries with funky names. They all ended in -istan. I didn't know any of them. I'm pretty sure I have the Middle East down.Then we talked about Iraq. Mr. Bruns told us that Saddam did actually do one good thing he separated church and government. Mr. Bruns quickly went over what they talked about yesterday but he was talking so fast that I didn't catch any of it. I learned that Iraq invaded Kuwait to get out of debt because Kuwait had a lot of oil. Also we went to war in Iraq in the 1990s because Iraq invaded Kuwait. Mr. Bruns talked about the Security Council for a little bit. He talked about how it's the United Nations duty to help a country if it is being invaded by another country. I also learned the results of the Pursain Gulf War. Apparently we won pretty easily. Mr. Bruns said that there were a lot of countries that came together for it. The US made up the majority though. But also when we went over their it made a lot of people mad because they hated us being over there which started the all the terrorist stuff.
