People started disliking prohibition a lot. People started hearing the work repeal more and more often. President Roosevelt signed the Cullen-Harrison Act, which allowed the manufacture and sale of 3.2% of alcohol. The Cullen-Harrison Act was signed to the Volstead Act on March 23, 1933. Roosevelt quoted, "I think this would be a good time for a beer." The Cullen-Harrison Act became a law on April 7, 1933. The very next day on April 8, 1933 a case of Busweiser was delivered to the white house. (I think that is really funny.)On December 5, 1933, the 18th Amendment was repealed, with ratification of the 21st Amendment. The 21st Amendment gives each state the right to decide if they want to ban the selling or purchasing of alcohol. Even after the repeal of the 18th Amendment some states still had prohibition as a law. Mississippi had made alcohol illegal in 1907. As the last state to repeal, they repealed prohibition in 1966.
