today we continued blog talks and nelson started by talking about the phillipines. we got control of the phillipines through the phillipine american war. They thought we were going to do the same thing to them we did with cuba and thats why they liked us so they trusted us but we didnt do the same to them and thats kind of how we got control. Even though the phillipines didnt like us anymore we did do some good things to help modernize the country.Next taylor talked about how roosevelt got the nobel peace prize. He was the mediator to help end the Russian and japanese war. the treaty of portsmoth ended the japanese war and got roosevelt the nobel peace prize. The treaty of portsmoth helped keep balance of the power. and form alliances so one group wasnt a lot bigger than another.Next cody did his talk. he talked about mexico. They had very bad government so we wouldnt recognize them.
