Today is Wednesday, Thanksgiving Eve.We have an hour early out today so classes are shorter by just a wee bit. We are all uber excited about the four day weekend that we are having starting tomorrow.American problems with Mexico. In Latin America, the government would be overthrown constantly. Within a ten year soan, the mexican government was overthrown almost half a dozen times. Mexico had a leader named Diez who liked to deal and cooperate with the US. The Mexican citizens hated this. People felt that Diez was letting the US control him and all of Mexico. Diez was overthrown by Madero. Madero was killed by Huerta after only a few days.President Woodrow Wilson refused to acknowlege Huerta because he came into power by violent means. Huerta was overthrown Caranza. Caranza was like Diez in that he was cooperative and freindly with the United States. He angered the rest of the Mexicans because of this.In 1915, Pancho Villa began to kill dozens of Americans in Mexico, and then he went up into the New Mexico and killed about a dozen more Americans. Obviously we had to retaliate so we invaded Mexico after declaring war. The World War was coming near so both the Mexican and American Militaries agreed to not fight and prepare for the World War. During World War 1, a German diplomat named Zimmerman sent a letter to Mexico to enter into the War by fighting the US. Zimmerman hoped that the Mexicans would keep the Americans busy in North America so that it would be easier for Germany to dominate the playing field over in Europe.
