Today we got right in to talking about chapter 10.Cuba we wanted Cuba because it looked like a place that could make money. It also looked good for a fort area. The Teller amendment was to block war with Spain for Cuba. Granted Cuban independents after the Spanish American war. We then got off topic and talked about reading the books for collage!!!Portarico did not get there independents. The war was assumed to be taken place in Cuba. We control Cuba. The Plantt amendment it allowed the U.S. to intervene. It also said the Cuba had to give us a base there and they couldn't make a treaty with other forgen countries and couldn’t get in debt with other countries. In the 1930's they had complete independents.The open door policy in china. The open door policy allowed the U.S. and other countries to trade with china equally. Other countries accepted it but they didn’t like it. The U.S. saved china. We wanted the open door policy because we wanted to trade with hem. The U.S. did not want to be left out.The boxer rebellion of china. The nick name was boxers because they were trained in martial arts. A bunch of christans came to china and convert them to christen. The boxers did not like that so they went off and killed the missionary’s and the Chinese that converted. China could have been taken over right then and there but the U.S. stepped in forcing the open door policy.The Russo Japanese war. Teddies Nobel Piece prize. Teddy got the Nobel Prize because of the Russian Japanese war. This was one big war and it was not good between them. When Japan killed fête they got support. On sep. 5, 1905 signed the treaty of Portsmouth.The Forging Policies. The Monroe doctrine was maid in 1823. It started that any European countries making a threat on us we would be forced to take action. If they didn’t interfere with use we wouldn’t inter fear with.I think that saving Japan was a good thing beacuse if we didnt the trading would not be equal.
