Today we watched a not so exciting movie over the 1920's. During this time automobiles were made and moving assembly lines started which cut the production time way down so everybody would buy them. There was also the installment plan. Buy now pay later. this led to drive in movies and people would go on sunday drives instead of going to church. small stores would shut down because people would hop in their cars and ddrive to bigger stores and bigger cities.Electricity changed the way a lot of things worked for factories and farmers and peoples homes. they could buy things like toasters and ovens and fridges. Cleaning for women became easier.Advertising came around because with this new machinery people produced a lot of extra product and it wouldnt all get sold so they started advertising things to let people know they needed something that they didnt even know they needed. Because of the electricity people now had many people had radios so tehy could advertise over that because that was peoples main way of entertainment.Then there was movies that everybody went to. some boys claimed they learned how to kiss at the movies by watching the people in the movies. People also smoked ciggarettes and did other stuff the same way they saw it done in the movies.Jazz started becoming popular around this time. It origionated in New Orleans. It was popular and fun and exciting.Then there was alcahol that a lot of people didnt like because they felt it caused a lot of crime and husbands became abusive.People wanted prohibition which is making alcahol illegal.Boxing became very popular during this time too because a lot of people would listen to it on their radios.Then there was the beginning of the great depression.
