Today in US History, we wtched a video on the 1920s.-In the 20's, they had a third industrial revolution which included cars.-Credit became a big sthing in the 20s. the motto was, "Buy now, spend later"-the automobile changed everything in life it seemed.-automobiles led to the shutting down of local stores, making of drive in theaters, and provided a sense of freedom-in 1920, the 19th amendment provided women the right to vote-young women now had more freedom-more women went to high school and college and were involved in sports-women wore looser and more comfortable clothing.-They began drinking and smoking and just had more freedom-electricity enabled you to buy microwaves, ovens, vaccums, and washing machines.-advertising informed people of new products and occasions.-advertisments often promised happiness and such-movies were introduced in the 20s- they provided a sense of fantasy and wonder and learning experience to common everyone-They started out as black and white silent movies-Jazz music was the main music of the 20s.-Jazz was considered controversial because of how happy and rock-y it was,-African American organizations in Harlem were started such as artists an musicians-Boxing, football, and baseball became big entertainment passtimes in the 20s- Charles Linburg became the first person to travel across the world in a plane.- The Great Depression started in the late 20s. it resulted from the stock market crashing.
