Today we started chapter 10.I learned that Imperialism is strong powerful countries that go and take control of smaller countries. Bigger countries colonized because of natural resources. Countries started to colonize to get more money, power, land. "To uplift, civilize, and Christianize people" was said by McKinley. I also learned than the U.S stayed isolationist because we had a weak army and navy, we had to build up our industry, government, and internal improvements. The two oceans kept us isolated, lack of technology. We had a lot of natural resources, and we followed President Washington's advice which was "stay out of foreign wars and alliances.”I think that staying Isolationist was a good idea because if we didn’t we would be under someone else’s control.
