first we talked about why the US stayed isolationist until the late 1800's.We wanted to avoid foreign wars, we had a weak army and navy, we had to build up the US first. like industry, government, and internal improvements. We also had the slavery issue to deal with Civil War and Reconstruction. The two oceans kept us geographically isolated. We had the west to settle. We had vast natural resources here in the us. Followed President washingtons advice("stay out of forein wars and alliances")Next i did my blog. Then Zach kloewer wanted to do his on the US taking of Cuba. They got control of Cuba through the Treaty of Paris. then we had to stop because we ran out of time and Bruns wants to go in order of topics and not skip topics.
