-What did progressives do to bring about better wages for workers?New Zealand was the first country to start the minimum wage law.The first minimum wage in the US was 50 cents. Henry Ford lowered it to ten hours a day 5 dollars a day. Business realized that if they pay their workers more, their workers have more money to spend and buy things, which is good for business's. Minimum wage kept going up and will keep going up. Today in some states if you work at a job that you get tips the business can pay you half of what minimum wage is.-What is segregation? What did progressives do to help African Americans?Segregation is the separation of blacks and whites. NAACP (National Association for the Advancement of Colored People) When Wilson was running for president he said he was going to support the NAACP, so all the blacks would vote for him. When we became president he didn't really keep his word and just forgot about it. While Wilson was president he actually brought segregation back to DC. DC hadn't been separated since the Civil War. Plessy vs. Ferguson was "separate but equal," that didn't happen thoughin 1896. Brown vs. board of education said that blacks should be able to be in the same school as white kids in 1954. Brown vs. board of education did overcome Plessy vs. Ferguson.
